Lauren Dobosz, a 31-year-old female of Rolling Meadows, Illinois was a passenger who was pronounced dead at the scene where both vehicles involved in the crash became engulfed in flames. She was a cheerleading coach, and her children were members of the Oriole Park Falcons Football and Cheer Team on Chicago’s northwest side near Olcott Avenue and Balmoral Avenue. Lauren was described as a dedicated cheer coach and football team mom, who always put others first.
Her four children were killed along with a family friend, who was 13 years-old.

The driver of the family’s blue Chevrolet van was Thomas Dobosz, a 32-year-old male of Rolling Meadows, Illinois. He suffered serious injuries, and was able to get out of his burning van. He was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center (Loyola Burn Center).
The wrong-way driver of the Acura TSX was identified as Jennifer Fernandez, a 22-year-old female of Carpentersville, Illinois. She died in her Acura TSX that also became engulfed in flames.
