Homewood police and Chicago Ridge police were involved in a short pursuit after a Homewood squad car was stolen near Halsted Street and Ridge Road before 9:55 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022. The police vehicle was involved in a crash at State Street and Joe Orr Road in Chicago Heights. One subject was in custody after the crash.
The pursuit began on State Road northbound from Lincoln Highway around 9:55 a.m. The police squad was possibly initially stolen at Halsted Street and Ridge Road in Homewood.
