Police, firefighters and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 5:51 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 to a report of a serious crash with injuries at Dempster Street and Linneman Road in Mount Prospect. The crash involved a semi-trailer truck and a Jeep SUV.
Witnesses said at least two people were removed from the Jeep SUV. CPR was administered on at least one of the victims according to witnesses.
Dempster Street is closed to thru traffic between Busse Road and Elmhurst Road.
Apparently the semi-trailer truck was eastbound on Dempster Street and crashed with the Jeep while it may have been westbound on Dempster Street. The driver in the Jeep may have been making a left turn to go south on Linneman Road.
Police did not comment on the crash, and the Major Case Assistance Team — Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (MCAT-STAR) team arrived on the scene Saturday night for an extended crash investigation.
The area near Dempster Street and Linneman Road will be closed for several hours Saturday night and maybe into early Sunday morning.
