Police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 3:13 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 to a report of a crash involving an SUV into a parked truck at 1401 East Evergreen Drive in Palatine.
Upon arrival firefighters discovered that the driver of a late model black Toyota 4Runner had crashed into a large Mack truck with tandem construction trailers. The driver apparently fled on foot from the scene.
The driver of the Toyota 4Runner was traveling southbound on Evergreen Drive, which is a winding road south of Rand Road (US 12). The driver apparently failed to take a curve and crashed on the oncoming northbound side of Evergreen Drive in the parked truck.
Palatine police are investigating.
