Police, firefighters and paramedics responded about 10:15 a.m. Sunday, September 13, 2021 to a report that a boy was shot during a domestic disturbance in the block of 8000 South Bennett Avenue in Chicago.
Police secured the scene, then discovered with Chicago Fire Department paramedics that a 12 year-old had been shot in the head, and was on the kitchen floor conscious and crying. The boy was treated and transported to Level 1 Trauma Center University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
A Chicago mom was charged Sunday in the murder of her 12-year-old son after allegedly shooting the boy over a missing SD memory card, a report said.
The boy’s mother, Fallon Harris, age 37, allegedly confronted her son about a missing memory card, according to Cook County prosecutors citing video retrieved from inside the home. The boy said he didn’t know where the card was, then she allegedly shot him.
Fallon Harris asked for the card a second time and the boy repeated that he did not know. Then she fired the silver revolver a second time. The second shot was the fatal shot.
Chicago police report that Fallon Harris admitted to shooting her son and showed police officers the gun she used. Fallon Harris possessed a concealed carry license.
Fallon Harris was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported that the boy died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head, the report said.
