Forecast for Arlington Heights and nearby northwest suburbs is less than one-half inch of snow mixed with sleet between 11:00 p.m. Wednesday and 3:00 a.m. Thursday. Sleet continuing through 5:00 p.m. Thursday. ADDITIONAL SNOW picks up again by about 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning and continues until about 11:00 p.m. Accumulation in Arlington Heights could be about 4 inches. Buffalo Grove and areas north could see 5 or 6 inches of snow.

Also, freezing rain possible between 3:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Thursday.

Southern areas of Chicagoland may see only rain. Weather conditions could change the areas that are most impacted by snowfall.

Lake County (IL) and McHenry County are already under a Winter Storm Watch. Buffalo Grove, Kildeer, Lincolnshire, and areas north are under the Winter Storm Watch (see below WINTER STORM WATCH below SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT).
