Stan Musial, St. Louis Cardinal Legend, Dies At Age 92

Stan Musial, one of baseball’s greatest hitters and a Hall of Famer with the St. Louis Cardinals for more than two decades, died Saturday. He was 92.

St. Louis Cardinals star Stan Musial died Saturday, January 19, 2013. He was 92 years-old.

Musial won seven National League batting titles, was MVP three times, and helped the Cardinals win three World Series Championships.

Stan Musial played his entire professional career with the St. Louis Cardinals. His first year playing in the major league for the Cardinals was 1941.

The only year Stan Musial missed playing for the Cardinals was when he was in the U.S. Navy in 1945 during World War II.

His last game was September 29, 1963.

Musial was scandal-free and died at the end of a week of sports scandals in the news.

He is survived by his four children, Richard, Gerry, Janet, and Jean. His wife Lillian (Labash) died in May 2012.
