Police from Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows and firefighter/paramedics from Schaumburg and Rolling Meadows initially responded about 9:45 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2020 to a report that a shooting occurred with at least one gunshot victim in the area between Algonquin Road and New Wilke Road, and Algonguin Road and Route 53 (frontage road). Paramedics treated and transported one victim with a gunshot wound that was located in the back seat of a car at Algonquin Road and Frontage Road near the border of Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg. Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics transported that victim to an area hospital.
Witnesses in the area reported seeing crime scene tape Friday night at the Shell gas station at 2200 West Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows. Also, Rolling Meadows police were standing by keeping watch in the area of the Shell gas station at least past 4:00 a.m. Saturday.
Witnesses also reported Arlington Heights police activity on New Wilke Road with New Wilke Road blocked south of Kirchoff Road. Multiple Arlington Heights police units were located at that scene at approximately 10:00 p.m.
Rolling Meadows police and Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics were also looking for a second gunshot victim in the area from about 10:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday night. Initially it was unknown whether there were two or three total gunshot victims.
Initially it has not been confirmed that all the scenes mentioned in this article are part of the same incident. Investigators from Arlington Heights Police Department and Rolling Meadows Police Department are investigating.
