The mayor of Arlington Heights, Thomas W. Hayes, reminded residents on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 to maintain a 6-foot distance from others outside your household.
UPDATE …
The message from the mayor was released as the the White House Coronavirus Task Force announced on Tuesday evening a new plan for 30 more days to stop the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, and Gov. JB Pritzker announced a new Executive Order that would extend the Stay-at-Home through April 30, 2020.
MAYOR’S MESSAGE ON SOCIAL DISTANCING
It is critical that we all do our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19 by following the Governor’s Stay-at-Home Order and practicing Social Distancing. Please maintain a 6 foot distance from others outside of your household. The Arlington Heights Park District has closed our local playgrounds and taken other measures to prevent large gatherings, but the parks do remain open. Our Police Department is responding to complaints regarding residents who may be violating the Stay-at-Home Order in public areas. Officers on patrol are also on the lookout to ensure that people practice social distancing. Please call 911 to report a problem, and do your part in being an example for others.— Thomas W. Hayes, Mayor Arlington Heights
Cardinal News has received several tips that crowded conditions exist on the path around Lake Arlington with small groups walking abreast on the path without offering courtesy to make way for oncoming foot traffic.
The Village of Arlington Heights also announced that in support of Governor Pritzker’s extended Stay-At-Home Order, and for the well-being of our community, Village offices will remain closed to walk-in traffic through April 30, 2020. Employees will continue to meet with the public by appointments only until the end of the Stay-at-Home Order. Resients that need Village services should contact the Village of Arlington Heights at the web page vah.com/get_connected/village_staff_directory. Please stay healthy and stay safe.

Important message from the @AHParkDistrict . Residents, please understand that the Governor's Order does not say you can do anything what you want as long as you stay 6 feet apart. Group activities should not be occurring at the parks. @ArlingtonHtsGov https://t.co/5nLGAnM4Xd
