Following days of negotiations with Democrats accused of attempting to add unrelated pork to the bill, and Republicans accused of tipping the balance of aid toward big business instead of small business and consumers, Senate leaders and the White House struck the emergency economic stimulus deal very early Wednesday morning. The deal includes business loans, expanded unemployment insurance and direct cash payments for many Americans.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that a deal has been reached on a $2 trillion coronavirus spending bill.
