Gas prices have dropped the last three weeks because of a drop in demand for gasoline associated with mitigation efforts to stop the spread of Coronavirus CIVID-19 Disease. More people are working at home or are not working at all; and students are not traveling to school. These are some of the situations that have decreased the demand of gasoline.
Prices in Arlington Heights and near Arlington Heights hovered a few cents over $2.00 per gallon with gas prices about 12 cents lower than gas prices a year ago.
Gas at the Costco in Mettawa near Lake Forest in Lake County was $1.749 for Regular and $2.299 per gallon for Premium.
