Missing Schaumburg woman Sureel Dabawala, age 34, was found dead in the trunk of her car on the city’s far west side about 9:00 p.m. Monday January 13, 2020, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.
Sureel Dabawala’s family reported on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 that Sureel had been missing since Monday, December 30, 2019. Sureel’s white 2011 Lexus sedan had also been reported missing.
Dabawala’s body was located about 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 in the block of 200 North Kilpatrick Avenue in Chicago’s West Garfield Park neighborhood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s report.
An autopsy is scheduled for later today, Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
Schaumburg police issued a missing persons alert on Friday, January 10, 2020, reporting that Sureel Dabawala suffered from a medical condition that caused concern for her well-being. Police also reported that Sureel was known to frequent the City of Chicago and neighboring suburbs.
Police said her body was found wrapped in a blanket in the trunk of her car. Police have initially classified the incident as a death investigation, and have not initially declared that foul play is suspected.
