A car was located in the DuSable Harbor early Tuesday morning.CBS 2 has the latest update.
Chicago Police officers started searching DuSable Harbor early Tuesday November 19, 2019 after Chicago police detectives tracked one of the victim’s cellphone to the block of 100 North Lake Shore Drive, and while responding to a report about 3:00 a.m. Tuesday of a vehicle in the DuSable Harbor. After checking area security cameras and Chicago Police Department POD camera(s). Investigators said they found video that captured a vehicle driven into Lake Michigan on one of their POD cameras. POD is the abbreviation for Chicago Police Department “Police Observation Devices.”
The bodies of two people were found about 9:15 a.m., but their identities were not immediately released.
Police suspected the vehicle was occupied by Antonio Lemon, 21, or Joseph Ramos, 22, who were reported missing since Sunday November 17, 2019. Lemon and Ramos were last seen leaving a River North nightclub “LITE Chicago” [Facebook Photo Galleries] at 215 West Ontario Street in a dark blue 2008 Dodge Avenger with Illinois plate AQ54397. LITE Chicago is about 2 miles from DuSable Harbor.
By early afternoon, the identities of the two bodies were released as the missing men who were last seen at River North nightclub over the weekend. The Cook County Medical Examiner confirmed the identities of the bodies as Joseph “Joey” Ramos, 22, and Antonio “Tony” Lemon, 21.
DuSable Harbor is located just south of Navy Pier, the Ogden Slip and the mouth of the Chicago River into Lake Michigan. DuSable Harbor is located between Lower Wacker Drive and Randolph Street at the Lake Michigan shore. Monroe Harbor is located just south of DuSable Harbor near Millenium Park and The Art Institute of Chicago.
A Chicago Police Department Marine Unit recovered two bodies from DuSable Harbor Tuesday morning after a car was found in the water.
