Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:38 PM Tuesday September 24, 2019 to a report of smoke and an activated fire alarm at Dryden Place Apartment 3 North Dryden Avenue Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that smoke was coming from an apartment unit, an activated fire alarm was heard, and people were screaming in the apartment.
Firefighters on arrival reported the smell of burning food, and requested a paramedic crew to move up to enter the apartment.
Engine 2’s crew reported they can handle, and all other fire crews were returned. Engine 2’s crew checked for extension of fire, and confirmed there was no extension.
One person was transported to Northwest Community Hospital by ambulance with Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics.
