All Walmart and Sam’s Club U.S. locations will stop selling e-cigarettes as soon as inventory runs out, the retailer said in a memo Friday September 20, 2019.
“Given the growing federal, state and local regulatory complexity and uncertainty regarding e-cigarettes, we plan to discontinue the sale of electronic nicotine delivery products at all Walmart and Sam’s Club U.S. locations,” the Walmart memo reported s Friday. “We will complete our exit after selling through current inventory.”
On May 8, 2019, Walmart announced that as of July 1, 2019, all U.S. Walmart and Sam’s Club stores would be raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco products, including all e-cigarettes, to 21.
Walmart also announced the stores were in the process of discontinuing the sale of fruit- and dessert-flavored electronic nicotine delivery systems.
