According to the National Weather Service Chicago office, satellite imagery and webcams showed a large area of really low stratus
and fog situated over much of Lake Michigan, with some of this stratus already spilling inland. The NWS stated there is a strong potential for dense fog inland from Lake Michigan. There was fog in Arlington Heights by 7:45 p.m.
There is a Dense Fog Advisory for Lake County.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows an image consistent with fog in the area.
