Arlington Heights police and firefighter paramedics responded about 5:32 PM Sunday, July 28, 2019 to a report of a crash with injuries in front of Shakou at 70 North Vail Avenue.

Police and firefighters arrived to find four cars involved in a crash and one person possibly injured. That person was transported to Northwest community Hospital.

Witnesses eating outside of Shakou said they saw a dark gray sedan going eastbound. The female driver of the dark gray sedan apparently stopped at a stop sign but then hit a white small SUV that was southbound on Vail Avenue. The driver of the dark sedan then hit a silver small SUV that was parked in front of Shakou. The impact push the SUV up over the curb. The driver of the dark sedan kept her foot on the accelerator instead of the brakes and pushed the silver SUV even further up onto the sidewalk. A witness said the entire outdoor dining area in front of Shakou scattered and ran from the area of the crash. Fortunately neither vehicle was pushed up into the tables of the outdoor dining area of Shakou. No other injuries were initially reported.

Police possibly gave a citation to the female driver of the dark gray sedan. However, police did not comment at the scene.
