Child care costs vary from state to state, even county to county. But there is one common thread across the country – it’s really expensive.
Both parents and child care providers are struggling to make ends meet with the rising cost of child care.
The cost of daycare has tripled since 1990.
The cost of day care is generally paid for by a combination government, parents and childcare providers.
In countries, such as Denmark and Sweden, the government foots the most of the bill.
In the United States the cost falls mainly on parents and childcare providers.
Cult of Domesticity
A term with shortcomings used by historians to describe a prevailing value system among the upper and middle classes during the 19th Century in the United States and the United Kingdom when women, as the center of the family, were able to take care of children.
Daycare is a highly labor driven industry, and it’s hard for many businesses to break even, in addition to the difficulty of families being able to pay for daycare.
