Residents with information that leads to the arrest of residential burglary and theft suspects in El Monte could receive a unique reward – a Ring Video doorbell. Matt Yurus reports.
El Monte California is the Los Angeles area city where Michael Gargiulo is accused of killing Maria Bruno in 2005. Also known as the “Hollywood Ripper” Gargiulo is on trial for the Stabbing Deaths of another Los Angeles area woman, and is was indicted in a cold case for the murder of Glenbrook South High School Grad Tricia Pacaccio in August 1993.
Unlike many other communities in Los Angeles County that are protected by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the City of El Monte has its own police department. The El Monte Police Department has about 117 sworn police officers who provide patrol service and emergency services for the citizens of El Monte.
El Monte is east of Los Angeles along Interstate 10.
