The DuPage County Health Department is urging anyone who got sick after eating at the Fox & Turtle in Itasca the weekend of April 20-21, 2019 to call the DuPage County Health Department at 630-682-7400 and report their illness.

UPDATE: The initial headline stated the restaurant was closed for 4 days. Cardinal News apologizes for any inconvenience; the restaurant was closed for 3 days.

Several people reported getting sick after eating Easter brunch at the popular country club restaurant in northwest suburban Itasca at 400 East Orchard Street.

The Fox & Turtle restaurant at Itasca Country Club closed Monday April 22, 2019 after reports of people getting sick, according to the DuPage County Health Department.

The department inspected the restaurant and told managers they could reopen, but the restaurant stayed closed until Thursday April 25, 2019.

“However, the decision was made by the Fox & Turtle to keep the facility closed to review all operations and sanitation procedures,” according to a DuPage County health department official.

The Fox & Turtle restaurant was open this weekend. There were no updates about the closure or the re-opening on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
