CNBC’s Todd Haselton offers a look at the new $2,000 Samsung Galaxy Fold, which is the talk of this year’s Mobil World Congress.
CNBC’s Samsung Galaxy Fold broke after two days of use. There was no explanation about the cause of the broken phone. The issue involved the portion of the screen left of the fold, which was flickering or shutting down to darkness.
CNET also reported on the broken screens involving four different tech reviewers. CNET reported the CNBC issue, a weird bulge reported by The Verge, a problem with the film layer reported by Bloomberg, and a YouTube reviewer that had a problem with the screen film cover.
Samsung Galaxy Fold review unit users are seeing some major issues with the foldable screen breaking. We peel back the layers of problems being reported by early users of the phone.

Marques Brownlee: Several Galaxy Folds have already broken. Here’s what’s happening.
Samsung’s first-ever foldable phone feels like it’s from the future, but also stuck in the past. The Galaxy Fold is packed to the brim with all the latest, and it works seamlessly — but the thick design and chunky bezels around the front reminds me of the T-Mobile Sidekick.
