MILD HIGH 61°F BUT THERE’S A PNEUMONIA COLD FRONT MOVING IN 1-3PM
The weather highlights are outnumbered by lowlights 2:1 for the weather forecast. Nice warm day Thursday with a high of 61°F, but then temperatures will drop sharply after about 2:00 p.m. (known as a pneumonia cold front) and light rain will begin Thursday night about 7:00 p.m. and continue through to about noon Saturday, and possibly lingering until about 6:00 p.m. Expect about 0.5″ total rain. Heavier rain is forecast about I-80 and south. Enjoy the mild southwest breeze before the wind turns north and northeast about 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Cold air will invade the lake front and then head inland from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Arlington Heights temperature forecast is 47°F by 5:00 p.m.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) in northeast Illinois is clear.
Mild again today, though short-lived near #LakeMichigan. A "pneumonia" type cold front passage from about 1pm to 3pm will bring rapid cooling lakeside & then spreading inland. Next round of rain this eve, esp. south. Fri. heavier rain holding off til eve-night. #ilwx #inwx pic.twitter.com/83noaTpWsa
