Elk Grove Village Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a man who was found inadequately dressed for cold weather about 7:42 a.m. Thursday January 31, 2019 in the middle of Chicagoland’s recent arctic blast near Salt Creek in the block of 1000 Cypress Lane at Placid Way.
UPDATE: Elk Grove Village Police Department has identified the man who was found yesterday morning near Salt Creek in Elk Grove Village. Police identified the man by tracking some footprints between the location where he was found and an apartment complex where items of clothing and a wallet were found. Police did not initially release the man’s identity, but said his family was notified.
Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics, responding to a 9-1-1 call, arrived to find a man barely dressed and hardly able to speak, according to Elk Grove Village Deputy Police Chief Michael Gaspari . No other clothing was found near the man. He was immediately transported to Amita Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
Elk Grove Village Police Department urges anyone who can help identify the man from the provided photograph [removed] to call the police department’s information center at (847) 357-4100.
Since posting the request for information on the department’s official Facebook page, Elk Grove Village Police Department has already received some leads but none of the leads immediately led to a positive identification.
The location where the man was found is near Rainbow Falls Waterpark and Lions Park Cypress Lane and JF Kennedy Boulevard — about 3,000 feet south of Busse Woods.
