A very slow-moving, moisture-rich storm system is forecast to bring accumulating snow throughout Saturday and very early Sunday morning. The system forecast track is slightly north of the earlier forecasts. Flurries could begin as early as 6:00 a.m. The significant snow will begin about 10:00 a.m. Saturday and last until about 9:00 p.m. Saturday. Snow flurries are expected to linger until about 12:00 am. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday. Since the system is moving very slow, onset times could be a litter later.
The snow is expected to be wet and heavy. The Joliet and Kankakee area could get about 4-5 inches of snow.
Weather Radar (also nexrad.chgowx.com) shows a very slow moving system with the closest edge just touching southwest Will County at 4:50 a.m.
