Numerous crashes are reported this Friday morning — many related to icy conditions.
Mount Prospect police reported a police-involved crash at about 8:25 a.m. Friday at Northwest Highway and Emerson Street. Police reported two other vehicles involved. Three vehicles required tow trucks. To complicate matters a freight train stalled across Kensington Road east of Wolf Road.
A Mount Prospect fire engine responding to the crash was stopped on the other side of the tracks. The train is expected to be stalled for about 30 minutes.
Buffalo Grove responded to a crash at Buffalo Grove High School at the Dundee Road entrance with a least one injury.
Buffalo Grove police responded to a crash at Weidner and Deerfield Parkway.
Buffalo Grove responded to a crash in the 1200 block of Selwyn Lane.
Arlington Heights police responded to a crash at Stonebridge Drive and Rand Road that involved icy conditions.
Algonquin eastbound at Meier — a property damage crash occurred about 9:42 a.m.
Other hazards were noted, too. A motorist reported that the traffic signals for eastbound Rand Road were not visible because they were covered with ice and snow.
