Buffalo Grove police responded about 4:57 PM Monday of a bank robbery at the PNC Bank, 1177 West Lake Cook Road. Police received a report that a male/white offender passed not to a bank official and left the bank with U.S. cash.
The bank was secure at 5:00 p.m. and the offender has apparently left the area. A gray Chevy Colbalt with a loud muffler was seen leaving the area at about the same time frame from a neighborhood east of the bank. There is no confirmation that the Chevy Cobalt is related to the bank robbery, but the vehicle, last seen eastbound on Lake Cook Road, is suspected as possibly involved in the case.
The offender was described as a male/white 5’8″ wearing a Chicago Bears hat, glasses, and a black coat with an unknown direction of travel. He was possibly carrying a plastic shopping bag.
