Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:29 PM Tuesday to a car vs. motorcycle crash at Northwest Highway and Arthur Avenue. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car and a motorcycle crashed on the north side of the railroad tracks at Northwest Highway and Arthur Avenue.
Rescuers received a report that a man and woman were down on the north side of the tracks with gas leaking from the motorcycle.
Two ambulances responded, and a man and woman were transported to Northwest Community Hospital. Passers by stopped to help the two people — covering them with a blanket. The injuries appeared serious to witnesses at the scene, but were apparently not life threatening. The male motorcyclist may have been unconscious for a short time after the crash.
A female driver of the Buick LeSabre that was involved in the crash with the motorcyclists did not appear to be injured.
Northwest Highway westbound traffic was blocked at Arthur Avenue for about 10 minutes. Eastbound Northwest Highway was blocked at Dryden for a little longer time period.
