Schaumburg police responded about 4:30 AM Saturday to a hit-and-run crash on Roselle Road near Interstate 90. Police received a report that a dark sedan or black Honda Civic ran a red light and hit a vehicle that was turning. The vehicle was last seen headed southbound on Roselle Road. The impact spun the victim’s car around.
The victim reported they thought they saw a Cook County Sheriff police squad behind the offending vehicle. Dispatch checked with Cook County Sheriff dispatch, but no deputy reported stopping a hit-and-run vehicle.
Alert Schaumburg police — after a dedicated search — discovered the offending vehicle and driver on Hillcrest Boulevard, just south of the crash site.
No word on any arrest or charges.
