Elk Grove Village police assisted Cook County Sheriff’s deputies about 5:25 a.m. Saturday in the search for a man reported to be carrying an AK-47 in the 400 block of West Touhy Avenue. A witness saw a man possibly carrying an AK-47 with an extended clip near a trailer park in the 400 block and 500 bock of West Touhy Avenue. A witness also saw the man hop a fence in the area.
The man was described as a male/white subject in his 30’s, 6′ 2″ 190 LBS, with short brown hair, brown eyes, and wearing a black tank top, black pants and white gym shoes.
Police had a possible identity of the subject by 5:45 a.m. Saturday, and were alerted that the subject was known to have an AK-47 with an extended clip with a 60-round magazine.
Elk Grove police officers and Cook County Sheriff’s deputies had the subject in custody by about 6:42 a.m. Saturday.
