Saving Lives is what they live for. New Chicago Fire television series promotion on NBC (See Chicago Fire videos from NBC).
“My mom used to tell me to keep my mouth shut and just watch … I’m glad I have you here to watch.”
Lyrics excerpt from Jon McLaughlin’s We All Need Saving
Don’t tell yourself you can’t lean on someone else
Cause we all need saving sometimes

Chicago Fire Department Squad 5 on emergency response in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago (video is a composite of two emergency calls).
Chicago Fire Department Squad 5 is a two-vehicle response unit (1) heavy rescue/multi-utility truck and (2) a snorkel truck that runs out of Engine 116 firehouse where Ambulance 49 is also quartered. The video is a mix of two responses — one to a garage fire and the other to a report of a man in trouble in the water in Lake Michigan. Not all video segments are in order. The views out the front are to the water rescue. Quick interior view shows firefighter getting prepared by changing into water rescue gear. Most of the views out the back are during the response to the garage fire — both calls on Saturday, July 9, 2011.

NBC’s ‘CHICAGO FIRE’ follows the lives of the firefighters and paramedics working at the Chicago Fire Department at the firehouse of Engine 55, Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, and Battalion 25.
No job is more stressful, dangerous or exhilarating than those of the Firefighters, Rescue Squad and Paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. These are the courageous men and women who forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way.
