On August 12, 2018, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) apprehended fugitive Thomas F. Kornfeind, 44, of the 400 block of East Oakwood Dr., Barrington.
Kornfeind, a documented street gang member had an active felony arrest warrant for Aggravated Domestic Battery, Theft, and Criminal Damage to Property ($250,000.00 bond). These charges total five counts and range from Class 2 to Class 4 felonies. The warrant was obtained by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on August 9, 2018 after an incident in unincorporated Barrington in which Kornfeind was involved in a domestic dispute.
Following the issuance of the arrest warrant, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team/USMS-GLRFTF developed information indicating Kornfeind was hiding at a residence in the block of 400 Arbour Court, Mundelein. On August 12th, 2018 members of the Sheriff’s Warrants Team apprehended Kornfeind inside the garage of the Arbour Court address.
Kornfeind was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on $250,000.00 bail. He is next due in court on August 23, 2018 at 1:30 PM.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
