Maybe it’s the five-pound laptop pressed against the seller’s head with the GoJo Hand Free, or the cheerleader doing a back flip while talking on the phone.
Do find this commercial funny? Does it cause headaches with the pressure on the side of you head? How about its inclination to press cell phone radiation right against your head. Is this a total idiotic product, or a genius product?
“There’s a sucker born every minute.” By the way, the quote is not confirmed to be attributed to P.T. Barnum of Barnum & Bailey Circus, as commonly thought.
The quote might have come from a late 1860s Chicago bounty broker, saloon and gambling-house keeper, eminent politician named Michael Cassius McDonald. According to the book Gem of the Prairie: Chicago Underworld (1940) by Herbert Asbury, when McDonald was equipping his gambling house known as The Store located at Clark and Monroe Streets in Chicago, his partner Harry Lawrence expressed concern over the large number of roulette wheels and faro tables being installed and their ability to get enough players to play the games. McDonald then allegedly said, “Don’t worry about that, there’s a sucker born every minute.”
