Mount Prospect police responded about 1:03 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a residential burglary in progress from a passerby in the neighborhood near Wille and Highland. Police received a report that one male/white and one male/Hispanic in their 20’s with a larger build were accompanied by a female. Police received a report that the suspects entered a side door. Police received a report that the suspects were bringing a TV and a stereo and possibly other items out of the house and loading them into a blue truck.
Before police arrived, the truck fled down Highland and turned toward Elmhurst Road. By 1:06 p.m. an alert police officer sighted a dark blue F-150 with gray lines on the sides, which turned out to be the suspects’ vehicle. Police stopped the pickup truck at FirstMerit bank parking lot, 50 North Main Street in Mount Prospect.
Meanwhile police that responded to the house reported that the side door was definitely pried open. Police called an evidence technician to the crime scene at the house.
Police transported three adult male suspects and one adult female suspect in custody to Mount Prospect Police Department headquarters.
Police also contacted the owner who immediately responded home to his house.
