The Arlington Heights Tree Lighting ceremony (Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony) at North School Park near the corner of Arlington Heights Road and Eastman Street starts at 4:45 p.m. for the countdown to “flip the switch” of the downtown holiday lights and many lit displays in the Park. The events runs until about 5:30 p.m. and also marks the kickoff of the Quasquicentennial — 125 years of incorporation.
The weather forecast calls for mostly sunny skies during the day and a high near 56 with south southwest winds between 15 and 20 mph, and gusts as high as 30 mph. Air temperature at the time of the Tree Lighting event is expected to be about 54°F falling to 51°F.
Fill the Sleigh All the Way!
Bring non-perishable food items to the annual Tree Lighting in North School Park and “fill the sleigh” with food for the Wheeling Township Food Pantry. The sleigh will be located at North School Park. Sponsored by the Arlington Heights Police Department and the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
Arlington Heights Firefighters Coat Drive
Arlington Heights Firefighters are hosting a coat drive from November 1-December 1 to help keep the needy warm this winter. Local firefighters and Arlington Heights School District 25 are teaming up to help needy student and families in the district.
Arlington Heights Firefighters will be collecting new and gently used coats at all four fire stations for the month of November.
