Palatine police responded about 4:25 p.m. in the 1100 block of East Carpenter to a report of a burglary that had just occurred.
A man with a “walkie talkie” fled just as residents arrived home. The offender was described as a male/Hispanic, about 40-years-old, wearing a gray sweatshirt and baseball cap.
The subject took jewelry from the house after entering a rear sliding door. The victims believe that a second subject was involved with the male/Hispanic subject.
The subject or subjects fled in a vehicle, but the vehicle description was not available at the time of publishing the post.
