Eliseo Mercado, 25, of Des Plaines man was shot and killed in a gang fight Friday night in a parking lot of townhomes at Pine Court and Everett Avenue.

Eliseo Mercado, 25, of the 200 block of Pine Street, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The victim was shot around 10:15 p.m. Friday during a “disturbance involving rival gang members” according to Des Plaines.

Mercado was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m.

Des Plaines Police Department and the Major Case Assistance Team are investigating.

  1. Eliseo was a good man he nay gang bang but he didnt deserve to be killed that child need to be charged with murder as an adult Eliseo didnt have any weapons and it was unnecessesary to shoot him he had a motivate to kill to toot a gun multiple times!!!!! R.I.P. Mercado

  2. When people don’t know the real story it’s better not say anything. Respect the families that have lost a dear one, you don’t realize till you are in there shoes how much it hurts when others just talk without knowing anything. Ignorants is what they are. Respect the dead cause there not here to defend themselves. People look pretty bad talking about someone who is no longer alive to talk back. Didn’t your mothers teach you to respect the pain of others. This world needs more love and less hate, may god forgive us all and god bless us all.
