Arlington Heights police received a report just before 7:40 p.m. Tuesday of an attempted burglary in the 500 block of Ashford Lane across Lake Cook Road from Buffalo Creek Forest Preserve and northeast of Lake Terramere. A resident came home and found a hole in a side door. Police responded and found pry marks near a door. Apparently no entry was gained by the offender or offenders.
An evidence technician was called to the scene. Arlington Heights police are investigating.
