Darien Police Department investigators have determined the deaths of three family members about 12:58 a.m. Sunday June 10, 2018 in the block of 7500 Farmingdale Drive involved a murder/suicide incident. Darien police determined that a man fatally shot his wife and 7-year-old daughter then turned the gun on himself in their apartment unit.
In a statement released Monday June 18, 2018, the Darien Police Department announced the investigation concluded that Olasunkanmi Esho, age 42, killed Bourk Esho, age 33; and their daughter, Olivia Esho, age 7. Olasunkanmi Esho then killed himself.
Officers responding to a call of shots fired found the bodies on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in their apartment on Farmingdale Drive in Darien. The incident was located in an apartment complex with 3-story brick apartment buildings just south of 75th Street and just east of Plainfield Road.
Police Cmdr. Gerald Piccoli reports the investigation is ongoing. He has not responded to requests for more information.
Immediately after the shootings, Darien police did not released how the people were killed, and did initially confirm whether any of the victims suffered gunshot wounds. However, Darien police immediately claimed the neighborhood was secure and that there was no threat to the community connected to the incident.
