According to the World Socialist Web Site, February 2011 will go down as a turning point in world history. Early February 2011, the Middle East and North Africa were inflamed by mass protests of workers and youth that culminated, on February 11, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak resigned. The social upheaval has included Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Libya, Tunisia and Yemen.
The author of the website announcement contends that the struggles will expand and portend colossal changes in the coming year.
David North, chairman of the editorial board of the World Socialist Web Site and national chairman of the Socialist Equality Party, and other leading members of the SEP, will address these questions in a series of meetings throughout the US. The first meeting is at Loyola University Chicago, Water Tower Campus tomorrow.
