Chicago police and firefighters responded about 11:30 p.m Tuesday to the 6700 or 6800 block of South May Street to a report of a truck loaded with weapons, ammunition and a grenade was discovered.
A truck loaded with weapons, ammunition and a grenade was discovered late Tuesday night on the South Side in the city’s Englewood neighborhood. No word yet on who discovered the truck.
Early report was that the grenade was a live grenade, but this has not been confirmed. The Chicago Police Bomb and Arson Unit was called to the scene and people were evacuated from their homes in the Englewood neighborhood while the Bomb and Arson squad investigated.
Police kept the street blocked, but residents were allowed to return to their home.
