Kick off the summer with a weekend of community and creativity at the 16th annual Promenade of Art on June 9th and 10th. More than 110 juried artists from across the country will showcase and sell original work in a variety of categories including ceramics, glass, furniture, photography, jewelry, mixed media, drawing, fiber and more! Live music featuring Cirrus Falcon, kid-friendly activities, artist demonstrations, and booth chats to learn more about the artists and their work, make the award-winning Promenade of Art Arlington Heights one of the country’s most popular! Spend the weekend in the heart of Arlington Heights enjoying the spectacular art while sampling food from local restaurants including Tuscan Market, Magic Circle Crepes, Taco Factory and Lisa’s Italian Ice.
FOOD & MUSIC …
In addition to the artwork, festival-goers will enjoy great food from neighboring restaurants and live musical performances all weekend long.
FOR KIDS …
Kids are welcome to participate in a variety of fun art activities including art fest bingo, spin art, coloring, and a graffiti wall. New this year is the Arlington Heights “Hands Together” Mural Project. Kids of all ages (including adults) are invited to add their hand print to a community mural showing that Arlington Heights is a community of unique individuals, but stronger and more unified together. Each participant will get an 8” x 8” square and their choice of paint colors to create a hand print. The hand prints will become part of a 4’ x 8’ mural that will be displayed in the community. Painting can be messy, so please dress accordingly. The Arlington Heights “Hands Together” project will take place from noon – 1pm both Saturday and Sunday.
SELFIES …
For those wanting to be part of the art, folks can step right into a famous painting and take a free selfie! Visit the Amdur Productions’ ArtZipper booth where a special “green” screen will be in place for attendees to be part of such world-renowned pieces as Paris Street; Rainy Day by Gustave Caillebotte, Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh, Whistler’s Mother by James Abbott McNeill Whistler, and several others.
