California Man Jose Luis Ochoa Killed By Rooster with Knife Attached to Leg in Cockfight
A central California man who was at a cockfight died after being stabbed in the leg by a bird that had a blade attached to its own limb, officials confirmed Monday.
Jose Luis Ochoa, 35, of Lamont, California was killed by a rooster that had a knife attached to his leg in a cockfight in Tulare County, California on January 30. Ochoa died about two hours after his injury, which occurred just before police arrived to raid the cockfight. Ochoa fled the scene with other spectators so he wouldn’t face charges. It is illegal to be a spectator of a cockfight.

Five dead roosters were found at the scene of the raid at Avenue 24 and Road 128, Earlimart in Tulare County California about three miles north of the Kern County Line.
