Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:10 PM Saturday June 2, 2018 to a report of a minivan crash with a motorcycle at Oakton Street and Busse Road Elk Grove Village, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a motorcyclist was trapped under the vehicle.
A video from a passenger in a vehicle stopped at the intersection showed about eight people lifting the rear end of a white minivan off of the motorcyclist before police and firefighter/paramedics arrived. Eventually about 15 citizens came to the rescue as the first police officer arrived on the scene.
Engine 8’s firefighter/paramedic crew on arrival confirmed a crash involving a motorcycle, but reported at about 12:14 p.m. that the motorcyclist was not visible initially.
Elk Grove Battalion Chief 2 soon after after arrival reported no entrapment by 12:16 p.m. Extra extrication crews were immediately held up on their response.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital.
