A total of 3.0 inches of new snow fell from Monday just before 4:30 p.m. through about 3:00 a.m. Tuesday in Arlington Heights. Snow was dry and powdery for the start and became wet snow late. Freezing drizzle fell from about 3:00 a.m. Tuesday to a little before 5:00 a.m. Snow cover at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday was 6.0 inches in Arlington Heights. At the 5:45 a.m. observation there was a crunchy glaze on top of wet snow. Accumulation on pavement was also 3.0 inches of snow. Radar is clear for Arlington Heights at 5:50 a.m. and no precipitation is falling.
