Shawn Moore, 31, of Hoffman Estates, was found about 3:00 a.m. unconscious in the road in the 1500 block of South Roselle Road — an unincorporated area near Schaumburg. Moore was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village and was later pronounced dead.
Cook County Sheriff’s police are investigating. Police are looking for witnesses to come forward with a vehicle description of the offending vehicle. Police are presuming that Moore was killed by a hit-and-run driver, and are waiting for autopsy results.

Shawn Moore is the second Hoffman Estates resident reported as a victim of a traffic fatality in less than one week. Christopher Vega, also of Hoffman Estates, was killed about 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning in a rollover one-car crash at Arlington Heights Road and Interstate 90. He was a passenger in a car when he was killed.
Moore is also the second hit-and-run fatality in less than one week. Choice Taylor, 17, of Des Plaines, was killed about 6:20 p.m. in the 900 block of East Algonquin Road in Des Plaines while walking home after picking up his paycheck from Jewel-Osco.
