Cook County Sheriff’s police alerted area police departments just after midnight Tuesday of an armed robbery that occurred in a parking lot in the area of 2300 block West Nichols Road. A male changing antifreeze in a parking lot was reported robbed at gunpoint by three male/black offenders. The offenders, who were described as wearing ski masks, dressed in all black except for white T-shirts, and were last seen running westbound toward Bonn Hill Drive or Route 53. At least one subject was armed with a rifle. The offenders took a wallet and a cell phone. The crime was reported to have occurred at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday.
Arlington Heights police searched the area. Buffalo Grove and Arlington Heights police stopped two subjects for investigation on Lake Cook Road and Ridge, but they were apparently not involved.
This is possibly the second crime of this nature in the past few days.
