Eve Carson and suspect photo from ATM video camera in Chapel Hill. Update at the bottom of this page.
Chapel Hill Police have released two surveillance photos of a possible suspect in the killing of University of North Carolina student body president Eve Carson age 22.
Police say photos were taken at an ATM machine in Chapel Hill and that the photos were taken as the suspect used Eve Carson’s ATM card.
File Photo of First Generation 2001-2007 Toyota Highlander, which shows that the window frame and roof rack could be a match with the surveillance video still frame.
The suspect may have been driving Eve Carson’s automobile, which was a blue 2005 Toyota Highlander with Georgia license plate AIV-6690. The photo, taken from a surveillance video camera that might use a wide angle lense that distorted the shape of the car, has not been officially verified as a match with the Highlander at the time of this post.
Police are seeking information from anyone who may have seen Eve’s car from last Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. until last Thursday afternoon when the Highlander was found. Gunshots were first reported at 5:08 a.m. Wednesday. An unidentified female body was immediately found at Hillcrest Drive and Hillcrest Circle, Chapel Hill [MAP/SAT] and was positively identified as Eve Carson at about 9:00 a.m.
Chapel Hill Police also released the photo of the suspect’s baseball hat, which appears to have a star in the front.
