Arlington Heights police received a complaint about 6:10 pm Saturday of a solicitor
2600 block North Haddow Avenue of a suspicious person, possibly a solicitor, ringing the door bell and jiggling the door knob. Police contacted the offender, no action by police known, and awareness of any arrest. The subject was described as a male/black wearing a plaid shirt. Police reported he was only 14-years-old.
Possibly a rough crew of solicitors were in the area: Buffalo Grove received numerous complaints of solicitors in Buffalo Grove.
About 6:30 p.m. Saturday a solicitor complaint was received from the 300 block of Butternut, The offender was described a male/black going-to-door that appeared to be ‘casing’ house and looking in windows. The subject asked a resident if they were going to be home next week, and was last seen westbound.
Two offenders were reported in the 2900 block of Kingston Drive, Buffalo Grove. Unknown if the subject had a permit. The subjects were described a male/black and a female black with one of the subjects wearing a purple shirt.
Another solicitor complaint was received about 6:40 p.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Indian Creek in Buffalo Grove. The offender was described as a male/black wearing a shirt and tie. The offender was reported to have no permit, and was reported to have become angry when a resident would not open the door for him.
About 6:45 p.m. a solicitor complaint came from the 2200 block of Avalon for a male/black going door-to-door. He was described wearing a light shirt and khaki pants.
Some or all of the solicitors were gathered for transportation to Buffalo Grove police headquarters to arrange a pickup by their crew leader, who was reportedly in the area. One of the solicitors was reported to get ‘mouthy’ with the police.
