First Wauconda police alerted area police departments of a speeding black Lexus in Wauconda. Then Palatine police alerted area departments just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday of a hit-and-run with a Palatine police car. Apparently the same black Lexus wanted in Wauconda was the same vehicle that hit a police car and fled southeastbound on Rand Road — last seen near Crave at Rand and Hintz. Mount Prospect police caught up with the vehicle in the area of Rand Road and Wolf Road. A normal speed pursuit proceeded southbound on Wolf and through side streets ending up on Devon, Touhy, Summit, Fitch, Harlem, devon again, and Milwaukee Avenue.
Mount Prospect police committed to a traffic stop at 6767 North Milwaukee Avenue near the House of the White Eagle restaurant in Chicago. Officers in pursuit announced one male in custody about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The male driver was transported in custody to Mount Prospect police headquarters. The driver’s vehicle was towed to a police holding area from the Norwood Park neighborhood.
