Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:15 p.m. Thursday of a shoplifter at the Walgreens, 1000 East Northwest Highway. The offender walked out of the store with sandals, cocoa butter and condoms without paying. The offender was described as a female/black about 25-years-old that left in a black Chevrolet Impala. Next loss control personnel at Jewel/Osco in the 1800 block of South Arlington Heights Road reported a retail theft involving a bottle of liquor. The offender matched the description of the Walgreens offender with a description of a black sedan as the offender’s vehicle. Arlington Heights police caught up with the offender in front of the Jewel/Osco. A male/black accomplice was also in the vehicle. Arlington Heights police transported one female/black in custody to Arlington Heights police headquarters. The status of the male/black was unknown.
Police are investigating if the suspect is the same person at both locations of retail theft.
